Cardiff Castle
We were briefed to design a visible and exciting new entrance and a visitor centre for Cardiff Castle, Cardiff’s most prominent visitor attraction.
Our proposal places the visitor centre on the exterior of the Castle Wall, facing the commercial heart of Cardiff. Creating not only an entrance but also information, café and gallery space in the centre of Cardiff and providing a much needed hub to allow people to get more from their visit to Cardiff.
The proposal not only achieves the requirements of being a visible and exciting new entrance for Cardiff Castle, it hosts multiple functions and uses to become a hub at the centre of the City of Cardiff and include an entrance to Cardiff Castle with ticketing and auxiliary facilities, gallery and exhibition spaces, a cafe/restaurant, a visitor centre an Event Space and educational learning.
